NYANZA, Rwanda – IFDC is supporting Rwanda’s 2012-2013 national tree planting campaign, which began with the planting of over 17,000 trees on 24 hectares in the Nyanza District.

Minister of Natural Resources Stanislas Kamanzi officiated the event and noted that the government plans to plant 22 million trees this year. According to Kamanzi, “If well protected, forests play a critical role in increasing agricultural productivity, thus uplifting people’s living conditions.”
