The Feed the Future Ghana Agriculture Technology Transfer project handed over a seed processing facility to Ganorma Agro Company Limited in Tamale today through a grant matching program. The facility can process up to 15 metric tons of seed per hour.

The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development and implemented by IFDC. Dr. J. Scott Angle, IFDC president and CEO, led the IFDC board to officially inaugurate the facility.

According to project chief of party, Dr. Gary Mullins, the project plans to increase farmers’ use of certified seed in northern Ghana from 10 percent to 40 percent by 2018. The ultimate goal is to ensure food security and reduce poverty in the region.
