Alexander Fernando, project manager for S2P was most recently Regional Director, East and Southern Africa and Asia. He has more than 18 years of experience in agribusiness, value chain development, and management consulting. Fernando previously served as IFDC Portfolio Manager for the region and as Country Representative and Chief of Party of the Agricultural Input Markets Strengthening (AIMS) project in Mozambique.
Prior to joining IFDC, he worked for several development organizations including TechnoServe, DAI, ACDI/VOCA, CNFA, and Chemonics. His focus has been on value chain development in staple crops, horticulture, livestock, coffee, as well as in agricultural input markets.
Fernando holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) in New York and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
