Mercy Nyambura’s role at IFDC involves providing leadership and vision to soil fertility and fertilizer development initiatives for Africa and contributing expertise for effective diffusion of IFDC technologies in the soil and fertilizer space. She has more than 10 years of experience with a focus on agricultural development, natural resource management, food security, and research capacity building. Her work experience is coupled with knowledge of public and private sector research, university, and development sector soil and plant laboratories in Africa and globally. Nyambura previously worked as head of partnerships development in the R&D Africa initiative unit and as head of spectral labs at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) Morocco. Prior to UM6P, she was the manager at the World Agroforestry Center’s Soil and Plant Spectral Diagnostics Laboratory. She holds a BSc. in Chemistry, an MSc. in ISFM, and is currently finalizing her PhD in Nuclear science (application to soils and fertilizer issues).
