Dr. Philip Charlesworth began his career in climatology and agricultural research in Australia. He transitioned to international development in 2005. Charlesworth spent 14 years in Cambodia with a variety of agricultural development projects, working for the government, bilateral organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). He has designed large bilateral programs, such as U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Feed the Future contracts in Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Senegal and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) programs in Cambodia. He previously co-owned a sales/agronomy agribusiness in Cambodia. His interests include researching, designing, and implementing elegant market-based solutions to value chain gaps. Charlesworth holds a Ph.D. in agriculture from Charles Sturt University, Australia.
