Accelerating Vegetable Productivity
aims to boost the knowledge and income of women vegetable and fruit farmers in southern Bangladesh.
Improving Production Techniques and Market Knowledge
The project works with women vegetable and fruit farmers, supported by work with the Department of Agriculture Extension and agro-input dealers, to improve the use of fertilizer deep placement (FDP) and protected seedling cultivation with water-saving irrigation, along with other associated good agricultural practices. Furthermore, the project surveys market hubs and works to build producer awareness of evolving market requirements and standards for vegetables and fruits.
Targeting Women Farmers and Agro-Input Dealers
The project is targeting 52,000 farmers and 25 agro-input dealers.
