IFDC is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Luis Prochnow as its representative in Brazil.
Prochnow will serve as Senior Liaison Scientist, providing technical leadership for IFDC projects and identifying new opportunities to expand the organization’s presence in the sphere of plant nutrition and fertilizer development across the region.
He will also act as IFDC’s primary point of contact with the recently established Center of Excellence in Fertilizers and Plant Nutrition (CEFENP) in Brazil.
Dr. Prochnow is a soil scientist specializing in fertilizers, with a distinguished career in research, leadership, and international collaboration. He is concurrently serving as the Executive Director of Plant Nutrition Science and Technology (NPCT) in Brazil.
Previously, his roles included General Program Director in Brazil for the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) and professor at the University of São Paulo.
A former visiting scientist at IFDC from 1999 to 2001, Dr. Prochnow has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and delivered invited lectures around the world.
In addition to representing IFDC in Brazil, Dr. Prochnow will contribute his expertise to projects focused on phosphate fertilizer research and development, further strengthening IFDC’s scientific impact.
