Bayella Thiam is the current Chief Operating Officer at IFDC with more than 25 years of senior leadership experience across agribusiness, food systems, and international development in Africa and Europe. Prior to joining IFDC, Thiam held senior executive roles with global organizations including TechnoServe, ADM Animal Nutrition, and Novus International.
Thiam served as Regional Director for East and West Africa at TechnoServe, where he provided strategic and operational oversight across multiple country programs, strengthening operational performance, financial stewardship, and compliance. Earlier in his career, he led multi-country operations and organizational transformations spanning both development and private-sector environments.
Thiam holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, an engineering degree in food industry, and a master’s degree in business and marketing for the food sector.
