Dr. Kodjovi Senam (Guillaume) Ezui is a Senior Scientist in Systems Agronomy at IFDC headquarters in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where he leads crop and soil modeling activities and works toward the development of decision support tools for delivering soil fertility management recommendations to smallholder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa as part of the SOILS-Space to Place Project.
Before coming to IFDC headquarters, Dr. Ezui held a fulltime position as Agronomist for IFDC in Togo for over 10 years, as well as various positions at the African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) in Nairobi for over 5 years, the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI), the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan for over 2 years, and the African Cassava Agronomy Initiative (ACAI).
Dr. Ezui has extensive experience in agronomy, site-specific nutrient management, integrated soil fertility management, and participatory learning and action research. He specializes in utilizing crop-soil models like the Quantitative Evaluation of the Fertility of Tropical Soils (QUEFTS), Nutrient Expert, the Decision Support System for Agrotechnology Transfer (DSSAT), and GSSAT (an interactive geospatial crop modeling and decision support tool).
He has also been involved in the capacity building of national agricultural research and extension services on crop modeling and site-specific fertilizer recommendations in many sub-Saharan African countries. Dr. Ezui holds a Ph.D. in Plant Production Systems from Wageningen University, as well as an M.Sc. in Agriculture and Environmental Engineering and a B.Sc. in Crop Production from the University of Lomé in Togo.
