Dr. Luis I. Prochnow is an agronomist and soil scientist with extensive expertise in soil fertility and fertilizers. He previously served as a university professor of soil fertility and fertilizers at the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil and later as General Program Director for the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) in Brazil.
He has also collaborated with IFDC as a visiting scientist and was recently appointed as IFDC’s Senior Liaison Scientist, based in Brazil as well as the Country Representative for the country. A recognized specialist in phosphate fertilizers, Dr. Prochnow brings decades of academic, research, and program leadership experience to his role.
