Kassahun Adelo is the Program Director of the Transform Soil Fertility Management in Ethiopia (TRANSFORM) program, providing strategic leadership for agricultural transformation initiatives focused on soil health, sustainable intensification, market systems, and smallholder farmer resilience.
Kassahun is a business and development professional with over 16 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, climate resilience, and rural development across Ethiopia and Kenya, where he has worked with diverse partners to advance inclusive agricultural transformation across Africa. He has extensive expertise in coffee value chains, agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, climate-smart agriculture, forest-based enterprises, and sustainable livelihoods.
In the past, Kassahun has served in program and project management positions at various organizations including Solidaridad East and Central Africa, PUR, and Fairtrade Africa in Kenya and Ethiopia. He has also served as Program Coordinator at the Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA), Team Leader of a wild coffee and forest management research project in Ethiopia for Huddersfield Business School, and Branch Director and Project Manager at the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus Development and Social Services Commission (EECMY-DASSC), leading forest conservation and livelihood programs.
