Mahamadou Aminou Yaou has over 10 years of experience in project management, working with local organizations, smallholder farmers, youth, government institutions, non-governmental organizations, and private sector actors. Mahamadou joined IFDC on November 1, 2018, as a Private Sector and Capacity Building Expert under the Fertilizer Sector Reform Support Project in Niger (PARSEN). He worked closely with private sector actors in fertilizer and seed systems, government agencies, farmer organizations, and financial institutions.
Mahamadou has served as Country Coordinator for the Soil Values program in Niger since February 2024. In this role, he works closely with colleagues from Sahelian countries and provides leadership in resource mobilization and oversight. His responsibilities include overseeing staff recruitment and managing contractual processes for local implementing partners and consultants, as well as actively engaging in field activities.
Mahamadou holds an MBA in marketing from Amity University, a postgraduate diploma in extension management from the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management, known as MANAGE, and a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from the University of Niamey.
