Nalitabari, Bangladesh – U.S. Ambassador James F. Moriarty called for more efficient use of fertilizer and natural gas at a ceremony launching the Accelerating Agricultural Productivity Improvement (AAPI) project in Bangladesh.
The five-year project was officially launched by Moriarty and Bangladesh Minister of Agriculture Matia Chowdhury. AAPI will benefit 3.5 million farmers through improved soil fertility and use of “guti” urea (urea supergranules). The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development and implemented by IFDC in close collaboration with the Bangladesh Ministry of Agriculture and the Department of Agricultural Extension.
