BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan – The area of farmland planted in Kyrgyzstan has increased significantly due to government and donor support to farmers.

According to Alisher Kasymov, general manager of IFDC’s Kyrgyzstan office, “Kyrgyz peasants and farmers received US $4m (181.6m KGS) in aid.” This included a seed voucher program that reached 30,000 farmers, co-operatives and seed growers.
