Governments are analyzing the use of houseflies and other insects as a major food source. The United Nations reported that one way to feed the 9.6 billion people expected to be alive by 2050 could be to rear billions of insects to use as animal feed. Raising insects on a large scale is much cheaper than raising any other animal.
