Alana Sebit Owot, Country Representative, South Sudan, joined IFDC in July 2021 as an Inclusive Agribusiness Advisor for the 2SCALE pilot program in South Sudan, contributing to the development of the agribusiness sector and food industry. Owot is an agronomist, entrepreneur, and agribusiness specialist with over 15 years of experience in agriculture, markets, and value chain development.
He has held various roles including Food Security and Livelihood Program Manager at GOAL Ireland, Agriculture Advisor at GIZ, Agronomist at ACTED, and farm manager and research assistant at the National Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of the Republic of South Sudan.
Owot holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Uganda Martyrs University, a master’s degree in agribusiness management and entrepreneurship from Uganda Christian University, a diploma in crop production and management from Busitema University, and a diploma in public administration and management from the Nsamizi Training Institute of Social Development.
