Bridget Okumu became IFDC’s Country Director for Kenya in December 2023 after having initially worked for the organization for over seven years. She is an entrepreneur and agribusiness specialist with over 25 years of experience in agricultural trade and markets and possesses a strong understanding of agriculture value chains. Bridget has worked in various capacities with many distinctive organizations including Chemonics International, Development Alternatives Inc., and the Eastern Africa Grain Council. She is a founder and Director of Solum Consultants and has an invaluable network that extends to development partners, non-governmental organizations, and both government and private sector players in sub-Saharan Africa. 

Bridget’s focus areas include training, agricultural trade, proposal development, strategy development, program management and evaluation, market systems development, market information systems, and information and communication technology development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness management from Egerton University and a master’s degree in management in agribusiness from Strathmore University Business School.
