Dr. Caroline Kundu Agamala joined IFDC as a Senior Soil Scientist in 2023, bringing extensive expertise in crop nutrition, fertilizer use, and climate-smart agriculture. Before joining IFDC, Dr. Agamala worked at the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) as a scientist on several research initiatives. She also worked as a part-time lecturer at the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, where she mentored numerous graduate and undergraduate students. 

Dr. Agamala is a member of the Soil Science Society of East Africa (SSSEA), the Nuclear Society of Kenya (NSK), and the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Kenya chapter. She holds a doctorate in global arid land sciences from Tottori University in Japan, as well as a master’s degree in soil science and a bachelor’s in botany and zoology from the University of Nairobi.
