Mercy Ngunjiri joined IFDC in November 2019. She holds a bachelor’s degree in soil and land use management from Moi University, a master’s degree in soil science from University of Eldoret, and a doctorate in agronomy and soil science from Purdue University. Prior to joining IFDC, Mercy worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the USDA-ARS, Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center, and at the University of Arkansas. Her areas of interest are in soil and landscape processes and its dynamics as it pertains to multi-scale environmental and hydro-pedological processes and spatiotemporal variations; and, fertilizer practices, perceptions, and implications of fertilizer use and efficiency in improving global food security.
