Veyrl Adell is a Gender Economist with over 20 years of experience working across Africa. She joined IFDC in August 2023 as the Global Director for Market Systems Development. In this position, Veyrl oversees over 10 market systems projects with an additional mandate for gender and youth inclusion. Prior to joining IFDC, she was the active founder and CEO of Signifide Group International, a start-up that supplies Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), while consulting with Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI) as Technical Lead for a Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) program on export trade in Southern Africa.
Veyrl has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Panjab University and sits on several boards, providing high-level advisory to bilateral and private donors. She believes in the advancement of tech to increase youth employment, reduce burdens for women, and enhance inclusive financing.
