Soil health is fundamental to IFDC’s mission of establishing food security, boosting agricultural productivity, and improving livelihoods. In honor of World Soil Day, IFDC invites eligible participants to engage in the “Visual Stories of Soil Health” competition to raise awareness about the critical role of soil health in sustainable agriculture.
This competition aims to showcase the transformative impact of IFDC, our partners, and other soil health initiatives, by utilizing the power of visual storytelling to illustrate the significant improvements in soil health, crop yields, and the social and economic benefits for communities worldwide.

Eligibility
- All individuals and organizations engaged in soil health management are eligible to participate.
- The competition has two categories: PHOTOS and VIDEO.
Submission Guidelines
Visuals: High-quality photos or video capturing:
- Soil health improvements (color, texture, structure)
- Increased crop yields and quality
- Thriving ecosystems and biodiversity
- Positive social and economic impacts on communities
Captions: All entries must include concise and informative captions or descriptions explaining the story behind each visual.
Submission Format
- Entries can be submitted as individual photos or videos to the form on this webpage.
- All submissions must be accompanied by a brief description of the project, location, organization (institution), and specific interventions that led to the observed changes.
Judging Criteria
- Visual Impact: Aesthetic appeal and storytelling power of the visuals
- Clarity of Message: Effectiveness in conveying the impact of interventions
- Innovation: Creativity and originality of the storytelling approach
- Relevance to Soil Health: Focus on soil health as the primary driver of positive outcomes
Award
- Winning entries will be published on IFDC’s website and social media channels. Photographers and videographers will have the opportunity to showcase more of their work and links to portfolios and websites.
