As 2025 comes to a close, IFDC celebrates a year of progress toward more resilient soils, productive farms, and sustainable food systems. Our teams and partners have advanced innovations, strengthened policies, and delivered real impact in the fields where change begins.
Throughout the year, IFDC worked alongside governments, research institutions, the private sector, and farming communities to scale approaches that put farmers first. Efforts ranged from strengthening fertilizer markets to promoting sustainable land management practices.
These vital initiatives, shown in our 2025 highlights, underscore how soil health remains central to everything we do.
Among this year’s highlights was our global participation in World Soil Day, through our Soil Values program high-level webinar, “Healthy Soils for a Resilient Future: Turning Evidence, Partnerships, and Inclusion into Action.” Revisit discussions and resources on our World Soil Day Hub.

This month, IFDC also addressed why responsible, well-targeted fertilizer use in sub-Saharan Africa is essential for both climate action and soil health in the latest blog, “Underuse of Fertilizer in Africa Is an Environmental Catastrophe.”
By nourishing the land wisely today, we can feed a growing population tomorrow.
