Elizabeth Guertal

Before joining IFDC, Elizabeth Guertal served as Project Director for USAID Feed the Future programs at Kansas State University and spent 28 years as a professor in Auburn University’s Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences department. An internationally recognized expert in soil fertility and turfgrass management, she has authored more than 210 publications, led over $32 million in funded research, and held leadership roles with major agronomy and soil science societies. Guertal is a Fulbright Fellow, AAAS Fellow, and one of only three women to be named Fellow of the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America.
