Micael Beun
Micael Beun joined IFDC in January 2020 as Interim Chief of Party to close out IFDC’s PAPAB project and currently leads the Projet d’Appui pour une Gestion Responsable et Intégrée des Sols (PAGRIS, “Soil Fertility Stewardship Project”).
Prior to joining IFDC, Micael was part of the PAPAB project as coordinator for Oxfam from 2016 to 2019. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Program Manager for Oxfam leading food security projects through a consortium of 10 international and national partners. Within this period Micael developed a strong expertise in the management and development of wetland and in watershed conservation by promoting a participative and communitarian approach. He also developed an innovative approach in Burundi known as the “woman empowerment and leadership school”. From 2011 to 2013, Micael was humanitarian coordinator for Oxfam in DRC and a Technical Junior for the Belgian Technical Cooperation based in Burundi between 2009 and 2011.
Micael holds bachelor’s degree in Tropical Agriculture and earned master’s degree in Environment in Belgium.
