It is with heavy hearts that we honor the memory of Dr. Vo Tong Xuan, a distinguished member of the IFDC Board of Directors who served with dedication and excellence from 2007 to 2017.
Dr. Xuan was renowned for his expertise in agricultural science and his passionate advocacy for sustainable agricultural practices. His contributions to the field were celebrated worldwide, earning him numerous awards and the admiration of his peers.
During his decade of service on the IFDC Board, Dr. Xuan’s visionary leadership and collaborative spirit fostered innovation and growth.
“He was a great promoter of the south-south collaboration, an outstanding mentor, and a great supporter of IFDC,” noted Dr. Upendra Singh, Vice President of Research.
Dr. Xuan’s work to introduce high-yielding rice varieties extended from his native Vietnam to many of the African countries where IFDC works. He will be remembered as a talented educator and spirited innovator, dedicated to sharing his knowledge to make a difference in the world.
