As part of the second phase of the Hydro-Agro-Meteorological Information System (SIHAM)/West Africa Food Systems Resilience Program (FSRP) program, IFDC is introducing a new resource designed to strengthen transparency and decision-making across Togo’s agricultural sector: The SIHAM/FSRP 2 Togo Agrimarket Insights.

Access to timely, reliable information remains one of the most critical challenges facing farmers across West Africa. Through the SIHAM/FSRP 2 project, IFDC is addressing this gap by delivering a market transparency resource that brings real-time agricultural intelligence directly to farmers and stakeholders. By tracking input costs, monitoring weather patterns, and capturing lessons learned from the field, the platform provides a comprehensive view of the factors shaping agricultural productivity and market dynamics.

More than just a data system, this resource translates information into action. Farmers can access up-to-date seed and fertilizer prices alongside localized rainfall data, enabling them to make more informed decisions about when to plant, what to invest in, and how to respond to shifting conditions. This increased visibility strengthens resilience at the farm level while improving coordination and efficiency across the broader value chain.

At the same time, the SIHAM/FSRP 2 Agrimarket Insights reflects a broader vision for scalable, data-driven solutions. Its integrated approach demonstrates how combining market, weather, and advisory information can create lasting impact, offering a proven model that can be adapted and replicated in other countries working to build more resilient and informed food systems.

Designed as an innovative digital platform, the Hydro-Agro-Meteorological Information System (SIHAM)/West Africa Food Systems Resilience Program (FSRP) aims to facilitate farmers’ access to reliable climate information to support informed decision-making. SIHAM/FSRP is made possible through the support of the West Africa Food System Resilience Program (FSRP), financed by the World Bank, the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP), and the Government of Togo.
